Indispensável no desenho técnico e industrial, para criar, adaptar e otimizar projetos, o CAD (Computer Aided Design) – por definição é Desenho Assistido por Computador (DAC), em português – surgiu da necessidade de se automatizar desenhos e projetos das mais diversas áreas da ciência, como Matemática, Engenharia Civil, Arquitetura, Mecânica, Agrimensura entre outros.
Outras formas tecnologias voltadas para o desenho técnico são os CAM e CAE, respectivamente manufatura assistida por computador e engenharia assistida por computador.
O surgimento dos desenhos CAD
As primeiras elaborações de sistemas para o CAD foram feitas na década de 60. Até então, todos os desenhos eram manuais.
Até o surgimento, popularização e desenvolvimento dos computadores domésticos, os ˜PC’s” essas ferramentas eram utilizadas apenas por empresas.
A importância atual dos desenhos técnicos
O desenho técnico deve apresentar dimensões, escalas, tolerâncias e medidas para que seu resultado seja utilizado em impressões, usinagem e processos de fabricação.
Ou seja, o desenho em CAD deve conter o maior número de detalhes possíveis para possibilitar a fabricação de peças e estruturas baseados nos desenhos.

DraftSight FREE
O DraftSight Free é um programa CAD 2D, de qualidade profissional e totalmente gratuito.
